Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Department of Counseling, Athletics Graduate Assistant position. This position will assist with the holistic mental health along with academic support to UNG student-athletes.
Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health screening for student-athletes.
  • Conduct appropriate mental health referrals and consult with clinical staff as required.
  • Provide developmental academic advisement to student-athletes.
  • Assist with academic counseling.
  • Provide wellness and mental health education to student-athletes.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Counseling Department Head.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and engage in training and development as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Counseling program and have completed the first year of coursework including COUN 6100 and COUN 6110.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours in the MS of Counseling program by start date.
  • Willing to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with assessments is a plus.
