Job Summary:
The successful candidate will have a dedicated interest in the care on patients with non-malignant diseases. S/he will work with other attending physicians on the Pediatric Bone Marrow Tranplant/ Cellular Therapeutics (BMT-CT) service in the supervision of advance practice providers, fellows, and residents in organizing each day's inpatient rounds, procedures, and family conferences. The schedule is such that there is dedicated time for academic activity in Clinical or Translational research ideally focused on non-malignant BMT-CT. You will have approximately 20% of your time spent conducting clinical/translational research and 80% of your time spent as a faculty member practicing Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant-Cell Therapy independently in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide independent care of pediatric BMT-CT patients on the inpatient hospital service
• Provide independent care of pediatric BMT-CT patients in the outpatient clinic and infusion center
• Communicate with referring physicians regarding shared patients on BMT-CT service
• Lead BMT advance practice providers (APPs: physician assistants and nurse practitioners) in the care of both inpatients and outpatient
• Provide education and supervision to medical students, residents and fellows in the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Write admission, discharge, acute care, and chemotherapy orders in collaboration with other physicians and advanced practice provider
• Provide coordination of care between the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Participate in the treatment of patients on clinical research protocol
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary care with other hospital and outpatient service
• Coordinate and assist with education of new patients and familie
• Participate in Quality/Safety, Process Improvement Initiative
• Conduct investigator-initiated research studies in pediatric bone marrow transplantation for non-malignant disease including evolving cellular or gene therapy approache
• Provide educational support to residents, fellows, nursing, support staff and other learner
• Perform procedures independently

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology.
• Active or ability to attain Colorado state license and DEA certification.
• Successful completion of a Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology.
Condition of Employment:
• Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
• Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.
• Continuous Maintenance of Board Certification(s).
• Meet all Children's Hospital Colorado credentialing requirements and continuous active medical staff status.
• Maintain a current Colorado State Medical License and DEA certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in the independent care and management of pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT-CT patients.
• Pediatric BMT-CT subspecialty/fellowship training at a high volume academic medical center is strongly preferred (can substitute for one year of experience listed above).
• Record of sustained independent funding of clinical research or translational/laboratory work, with preference given to candidates who have secured at least one cycle of renewed funding if greater than 20% protected research time is to be included in this position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to independently care for and manage complex Pediatric BMT patients in an academic setting.
• High customer service skills, team-based patient care, and ability to meet productivity targets are expected.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
$184,000 - $198,000
The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
