Job Description Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements; Perform cleanup duties; Perform material handling and storage duties; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks; Identify equipment types; Perform equipment inspection, service and maintenance as required; Read and use equipment operator's manual; Assist with equipment service and maintenance; Identify components and controls of equipment; Ability to respond to equipment emergency procedures; Operates self-propelled grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, and stone, to grade specifications in construction and maintenance of earthwork structures, such as highways, streets, airports, dikes, and temporary roads.; May be required to operate GPS grader.; Drives grader and moves levers to regulate height and angle of grader blade, lower scarifier that loosens packed soil to permit grading, and to tilt front wheels of grader when making sharp turns.; Drives grader in successive passes over working area, observing reference stakes or hand signals of assisting worker, to level surface to specified grade.; Feels lever and listens to sound of engine to determine depth of cut. May perform fine or rough grading and be designated Motor Grader, Fine Grade (construction); Motor Grader, Rough Grade (construction).; Mixing materials and operating a grader and other heavy equipment to spread and level materials such as gravel, stone, and dirt for road construction; Maintaining roadways by operating machinery like motor graders, bulldozers, and tractors to clear dirt roads, lay base material, and excavate for utilities and concrete; May operate tractor drawn grader to cut and smooth subgrade on street and highway paving projects ; Check equipment daily to maintain efficient and safe operational status, such as greasing, oiling/oil changes, routine equipment maintenance, and grader blade changes.; Constructs new road grades, requiring the acitliy to read and understand grade stakes, use sight perception and reasoning necessary to balance a grade and cut ditches to reasonable construction tolerance.; Rough grade aggregates to suitable tolerances.; Able to read and comprehend mathematics of construction grade stakes.; All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mental Demands: Understand and carry out oral instructions; Read and carry out written instructions to perform work tasks; Work at varying heights; Recognize, avoid, and report safety hazards; Assemble and disassemble objects; Operate equipment and power tools Physical Demands: See hazards, safety warnings, and barriers; Bend knees for lifting and routine work tasks; Stoop for work positioning and lifting to perform work tasks; Lift maximum 50 lbs without assistance; Ability to comprehend, and respond to audible/visual instructions, alarms and warnings; Climb/balance on ladders, scaffolding, and structures for work tasks; Kneel for work positioning and work task performance; Reach above shoulders and away from body to perform work tasks; Demonstrate manual dexterity to perform work tasks Working Conditions: Work in extreme heat or cold; Work where noise level is above 85 decibels; Work in wet/humid environment; Work in cramped quarters; Work in environment of fluctuating ventilation; Work inside and outside We are an equal opportunity employer
