Job description

Utility Laborer - Civil Construction
Stuart Contractors is hiring an experienced Utility Laborer to join our civil site construction team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on underground utility experience who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and wants a long-term opportunity with a growing company.
Our crews perform a variety of civil construction projects involving underground utilities, excavation, grading, and site development. The Utility Laborer will work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and other crew members to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Job Duties:
• Assist crews with the installation of water, sewer, and storm drain systems
• Support pipe installation, trench work, backfilling, grading, and site preparation
• Work alongside heavy equipment operators and foremen during daily field operations
• Safely use hand tools, power tools, and other jobsite equipment
• Assist with material handling and general construction labor as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements
Experience & Requirements:
• At least 2 years of civil site construction or underground utility experience
• Previous experience with utility installation and general site work preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work and lift 50+ pounds
• Dependable transportation to and from assigned job locations
• Strong attendance, reliability, and willingness to work as part of a crew
• Safety-focused attitude and ability to follow instructions
Schedule:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with the workday generally beginning at 7:00 AM. Daily hours may vary depending on project requirements. Overtime opportunities may be available.
