Job description

Are you a Superintendent who knows how to run concrete and civil work-and expects the job to be done right?

At McGrath, our Superintendents lead from the field. You'll be responsible for driving production, managing crews, and delivering high-quality work across civil and concrete projects.

We self-perform a significant amount of our concrete work-including foundations, site utilities, and deep foundations-and we're looking for someone who can lead that effort on-site.

What you'll actually be doing:

  • Leading day-to-day field operations on civil and concrete projects
  • Managing self-perform crews (concrete, grading, utilities)
  • Coordinating subcontractors and jobsite activities
  • Driving project schedules, sequencing, and production
  • Ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on-site
  • Handling field reporting, documentation, and coordination with PMs
  • Supporting minor estimating and change order work
  • Building strong relationships with clients and trade partners

Why Foreman choose McGrath:

  • You're trusted to run the job - not micromanaged from the office
  • Employee-owned company - your work directly impacts your future
  • Strong pipeline of work - steady, meaningful projects
  • Self-perform capabilities - real control over your jobsite
  • A team that values integrity, accountability, and doing things right

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience leading civil and concrete construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Concrete (foundations, flatwork, deep foundations)
    • Grading and site utilities
  • Ability to manage crews, schedules, and jobsite logistics
  • Strong leadership-someone crews respect and follow
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong communication with field teams, PMs, and clients
  • OSHA 30 certification

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience in industrial or heavy civil construction
  • Background in self-perform concrete work
  • Experience with scheduling software

What you get:

  • Union position (Carpenters or Laborers)
  • Company vehicle (based on eligibility)
  • Paid time off + holidays
  • Long-term, stable work with a respected contractor
  • A company that supports and values strong field leadership

Final thought:

If you're a Superintendent who:

  • Knows how to run concrete and civil work the right way
  • Takes pride in a clean, safe, and productive jobsite
  • Wants steady work with a team that backs you

We'd like to talk.
