Electrical Powerline Technician

Are you a skilled Powerline Technician ready to make a tangible impact in the energy sector? We're seeking a dedicated Electrical Powerline Technician to support critical infrastructure projects across Midland, TX, and surrounding areas. This is your chance to work with a reputable company, contribute to essential powerline construction and maintenance, and grow your career in a supportive environment that values safety, expertise, and professionalism.
What You'll Do:
  • Report project status daily to your assigned Lead and complete all tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records, including Job Prints, GPS Maps, KMZ Files, Material Lists, and ROW clearing acknowledgments.
  • Track and submit your timesheets, mileage, and hours daily.
  • Ensure construction quality, proper voltage, and site cleanliness upon project completion.
  • Conduct final inspections, fill out inspection sheets, and uphold quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with team members, oversee contractors, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Required Skills:
  • 2-5 years of experience in powerline construction or maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926.1407-1411 standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Extensive understanding of powerline components such as reclosers, capacitors, voltage regulators, and transformers.
  • Ability to perform fuse coordination calculations, fuse sizing, and transformer service wire sizing per NEC code.
  • Knowledge of Right-of-Way standards, route design, drafting prints, and staking lines.
  • Excellent record-keeping, communication, and professional email etiquette.
  • Leadership skills to oversee contractors and ensure safety standards are met.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with substation and transmission line construction.
  • Familiarity with GPS mapping and drafting software.
  • Additional safety certifications beyond OSHA standards.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in powerline work preferred.
  • Proven field experience, ideally within a construction or utility environment.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work in various outdoor conditions across Midland, TX, Odessa, Andrews, Seminole, Hobbs, Kermit, and Mentone.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
