Job description

The project surveyor and GPS tech will work directly under the lead Project Managers. Candidate shall have knowledge of heavy & highway construction projects and surveying/GPS experience.

Duties/Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Knowledgeable in the use and operation of GPS equipment including TRIMBE data collectors

• Trimble/leica GPS equipment setup - in support of the construction crews

• Must be able to read and interpret construction plans/blueprints

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and operation of surveying equipment

• Assist and train field staff for efficient use of GPS equipment.

• Responsible for measurement and setting of jobsite grade for machine control Grading and paving

• Verify elevations and indicate reference points on jobsite

• Work with crews to ensure accurate construction layout

• Assist in management of projects and estimating

Qualifications:

• 3+ years surveying experience

• 3+ years GPS (preferably Trimble) experience

• CAD / Modeling experience preferred

• Computer knowledge & efficiency

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Strong decision-making & problem-solving skills

• Ability to multi-task and manage critical deadlines

• Work well in team environment and be a team player
