Job description

Rinvio is hiring a Autonomous Equipment Field Specialist for hands-on field support for robotic/autonomous construction equipment. This is a travel-heavy field role based near the Chicago, IL market.


Pay: $115,000-$125,000/year, based on experience

Location: Chicago, IL area; candidates should live within reasonable distance of a major airport

Schedule: Heavy weekly travel to project sites; schedule may vary by deployment and site needs

Type: Contract


Responsibilities:

- Support deployment, operation, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of autonomous construction equipment

- Assist with field setup, calibration, sensor adjustment, component checks, and equipment readiness

- Coordinate with operators, construction teams, project stakeholders, and technical support

- Document equipment performance, field observations, issues, and improvement opportunities

- Maintain safe field practices and a professional Rinvio presence on jobsites


Requirements:

- Heavy equipment, construction, field service, machinery, robotics, or autonomous equipment background

- 5+ years of hands-on equipment operation, repair, maintenance, or troubleshooting experience preferred

- Comfort working with mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, diagnostics, and tools

- Clear professional communication with operators, construction teams, customers, and technical teams

- Willingness to travel weekly across the U.S. and work in outdoor/construction jobsite conditions

- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to lift up to 60 lbs

- Welding, fabrication, hydraulics, soldering, electrical, GPS/machine control, or construction technology experience is a plus
