As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate clearly, and deliver exceptional customer service while reflecting our agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven culture.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at government facilities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and report observations.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of visitor, vehicle, and employee activity in accordance with site procedures.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
