Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in DevOps to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and automating our customer's in support of this customer's mission, ensuring the smooth operation of all systems within the virtual environment (Nutanix, VMs,) to optimize performance, scalability and automation.

Provides development engineering and programming support to projects and infrastructure support activities. Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions. Designs software or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design within an application area, working individually or coordinating development as part of a team.

  • Manage and maintain the customer's application servers, networks and development & test infrastructure
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot application hosting services
  • Monitor system performance and audits to ensure data integrity and protection
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify technical requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Implement best practices for automation, backup, disaster recovery, and system redundancy
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cloud computing and IT systems administration
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:ย  ย 

We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our technology-based program supporting a key Government customer. A Bachelor's or Master's degrees in computer science are preferred with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience and education with the following skillsets:

  • Infrastructure as a code language (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
  • Experience with Linux System Administration and containerization tools (e.g. Docker)
  • Ability to use source Control tools (e.g. Git, Subversion,)
  • Experience in Cloud based services (AWS, Azure)
  • Understand and implement network architecture (e.g. VLAN, subnets)
  • Candidates should have experience in security review of applications and infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze and solve networking issues
  • Researches new technologies in object oriented programming.
  • Works well in a engineering team environment with other teammates who have varied skills levels.
  • Ability to mentor others

Desired Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would also be familiar with working in development environments that utilize Scrum, Lean, Agile and DevOps. as well as ServiceNow for reporting and workflow.

  • Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Cisco NSO
  • Experience with SD-WAN technology and applications (e.g. Versa)
  • Experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Shell, Bash etc.

  • The expected salary range within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $120,000 - $140,000. Final compensation is unique to each individual and will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and contractual requirements. This is not a guarantee.
