Program Strategist - AI-Driven Child Welfare Solutions
Location: Remote | Duration: 6+ Months | State of MS Project #156575
About the Role
Join the Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services as a Program Strategist, championing the proof-of-concept for next-generation intake solutions. Leverage advanced natural language processing and machine learning to transform child welfare, directly impacting outcomes for at-risk children. Lead strategic initiatives in a collaborative, agile environment while working with a dedicated team of state stakeholders. This role offers the chance to shape the future of public sector AI adoption and make a tangible difference in the lives of Mississippi's children.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic project objectives focused on child protection and resource optimization during the proof-of-concept phase
- Lead and oversee interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops to assess current workflows and identify improvements
- Direct development and documentation of new intake processes, focusing on measurable outcomes and transparency
- Facilitate communication and buy-in from all levels within MDCPS, engaging key stakeholders for maximum impact
- Manage and coordinate conference room demonstrations, ensuring alignment with state goals
- Oversee technology roadmap development for integration into existing state systems
- Supervise the creation of comprehensive final reports, highlighting project achievements and next steps
Required Skills and Experience
- Master's, MBA, or Executive MBA in business administration, finance, or related field
- 20+ years in project management with state, local, or corporate clients
- Demonstrated expertise in AI product management, requirements definition, and solution prototyping
- Deep experience with Pattern of Life and Geospatial analysis relevant to state government challenges
- Proven success implementing IT enterprise solutions with a data analytics focus
- Strong leadership in engaging, coordinating, and securing support from diverse organizational levels
- Mastery of Agile, Pert, and Gant methodologies for complex project management
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Robust experience in interviewing, facilitating workshops, and developing technology roadmaps and reports
- Solid budget, scope, risk, and results management abilities
Preferred Skills
- Extensive knowledge of data systems used by Child Protective Services
- Direct experience in child welfare, public safety, fraud detection, or risk management within government settings
