Overview
The Government Program Specialist plays a critical role within the Government Sales & Marketing Department, serving as a key partner to the Government Sales team and supporting the successful execution of government programs, contracts, and customer initiatives. This position is responsible for providing program administration, sales support, operational coordination, reporting, and customer service support to ensure the effective management of government and cooperative purchasing programs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This individual will collaborate across departments and with external partners to support business objectives, enhance operational efficiencies, and deliver exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer monthly and quarterly state and cooperative contract reporting in accordance with customer requirements and contractual obligations.
  • Manage new catalog submissions and catalog revision requests, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Respond to program-specific and administrative inquiries from the field, providing guidance and support to internal sales teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate periodic business reviews, including gathering and preparing associated metrics, reports, and performance data.
  • Maintain and administer customer location lists, MIF (Machine Inventory File) reports, and other analytical and reporting tools.
  • Triage customer escalations, communicate issues to appropriate internal stakeholders, and follow through to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate and support relationships with third-party partners and vendors as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive support to Government Contracts teams to ensure the successful administration and execution of government programs and contracts.
  • Support solutions-based initiatives through implementation, tracking, reporting, and ongoing program management activities.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and records to ensure compliance with company policies and contractual requirements.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives, special projects, and other departmental objectives as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience in program administration, sales support, operations, customer service, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing demands, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
