Job description

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for all sides of care of a patient. They diagnose, educate, and treat patients to ensure that they have the best possible care. A few of the main duties of the NP are performing diagnostic tests and exams, documenting patient's medical history, educating patients, and referring patients to other specialists. They also administer vaccines and other treatments. NPs work in close coordination with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, medical assistants, and practice or clinic managers, to deliver the highest possible quality of care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dedicated to fighting disorders and diseases of the nervous system, specifically geared towards cognitive neurology
  • Gathers subjective and objective patient information through an in depth history and physical
  • Works as a team with designated physician to help determine and diagnose the etiology of the cognitive complaint
  • Diagnose patients by performing routine exams and diagnostic tests on patients within the scope of practice
  • Assist the neurological team manage all neurological disorders as needed by assisting in on-call coverage
  • Generate accurate charge slips after each patient visit
  • Create a care plan for a patient and work together with other medical team members to ensure care plan is effectively followed
  • Delegate role appropriate tasks to other medical team members as necessary for patient care
  • Respond to patient questions and health concerns
  • Prescribe medications and suggest lifestyle changes
  • Review and retain orderly and well-kept patient records
  • Collect specimens, refer to laboratory, and assess medical results
  • Administer topical, oral, intravenous, or intramuscular medications
  • Communicate pertinent medical records to appropriate specialists as needed
  • Report diseases, births, and deaths in accordance with government rules
  • Ensure clinical practice is in accordance with Pure Healthcareโ€™s Policies and Procedures
  • Maintain excellent patient safety and satisfaction scores
  • Always maintain a professional environment
  • Always maintain a clean and organized clinic
  • Provide compassionate healthcare to patients
Community Engagement
  • Establish and maintain strong community relationships with Home Health organizations, Independent Living Facilities and Senior Living Communities
  • Conduct outreach with other providers/specialists as directed
  • Promote community education
  • Speaks publicly at events regarding MTC and dementia as deemed necessary
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations

Education/Licensure/Technical Requirements
  • NP certification through either AANP or ANCC
  • Masterโ€™s or Doctorate in Nursing
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state for which the position exists, must be in good standing.
  • Active RN license in the state for which the position exists, must be in good standing.
  • Proficient with personal computers and contemporary software applications (EMR, MS Office)
  • Warm and welcoming bedside manner
  • Exceptional teamwork skills
  • Always maintains professional appearance and demeanor
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to meet U.S. employment and eligibility requirements
