Period of Performance: November 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 (anticipated)

Position/Project Overview: 

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector for the rehabilitation and upgrade of facilities and infrastructure at Sherando Recreation Area in Virginia, including replacement of the campground and day-use area water distribution system, bathhouse renovations and replacement, and improvements to walkways, picnic sites, a kayak launch, and a memorial garden. The selected inspector will provide onsite construction inspection services, maintain daily project documentation, and coordinate regularly with the Government's Contracting Officer Representative (COR) throughout the construction effort.

This role is contingent upon award of project.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Verify that all construction activities comply with contract requirements and accepted construction practices 
  • Monitor the contractor's performance and notify the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) of deficiencies, unsatisfactory work, or issues requiring attention 
  • Maintain a complete and up-to-date contract file, including project records, correspondence, payments, submittals, testing reports, and daily logs 
  • Prepare and maintain a Contract Daily Diary documenting work activities, weather conditions, equipment, personnel, deliveries, and significant project events 
  • Complete daily diaries and communicate regularly with the COR regarding project operations
  • Verify that materials and equipment incorporated into the project meet contract requirements 
  • Verify that applicable construction safety standards are being met and that approved contractor submittals are available before work is performed 
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure it aligns with approved schedules and contract requirements 
  • Provide accurate reports, monitor compliance with applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and promptly report issues, contract deviations, differing site conditions, or unexpected discoveries to the COR

Required Education, Knowledge and Skills

Education/Certification:

  • No specific degree or educational qualification is required for this position.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience inspecting construction projects 
  • Experience inspecting wastewater-related construction projects is preferred
  • Demonstrated technical qualifications relevant to construction inspection services 
  • Ability to verify contractor compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and construction standards 
  • Experience monitoring construction progress and ensuring work aligns with approved schedules 
  • Experience preparing accurate inspection reports, daily diaries, and project documentation 
  • Experience reviewing construction materials, equipment, and contractor submittals for compliance with project requirements 
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with contractors and Government representatives, including the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) 

Key Attributes & Skills: 

  • Strong ability to inspect construction activities and verify compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and established construction practices 
  • Excellent attention to detail for identifying deficiencies, non-conforming work, and potential contract compliance issues 
  • Ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including daily diaries, logs, reports, and contract files
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with contractors, the Contracting Officer (CO), and the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR)
