Job description

You will prepare financial statements, monitor budgets, reconcile accounts, analyze trends, and maintain accurate records of financial transactions. You will also assist in interpreting complex financial data, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and providing guidance to internal stakeholders to support the agency's financial health and operational efficiency.

The essential functions of this role are:

● Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records financial reports to assess compliance with procedural standards.

● Maintain or examine the records of government agencies.

● Advise the appointing authority and/or controller of the status of all accounts.

● Develop policies and procedures for general accounting and bookkeeping.

● Oversee usage of the computerized accounting system.

● Establish work methods and control measures for accounting/bookkeeping functions.

● Certify the accuracy of the agency's financial records and accounts.

● Review reports for grant reconciliation for grant funded accounts.

● Direct program staff in accounting matters relating to specific program funding.

● Assist controller in budget preparation.
