What you'll do

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Security Contract Program Manager to join our Global Security team. This role is crucial for managing and overseeing security-related contracts, ensuring compliance, and supporting global operations. You will leverage your expertise in contracting, acquisitions, and program management to contribute to the success of our security initiatives.


The day-to-day
  • Manage and administer security contracts, including services, construction, and commodities, in support of global operations.
  • Advise on the obligation of funds and manage budgets for critical security assets.
  • Act as a primary liaison between Viasat’s Security Administration team, Procurement and Contract teams on contracting matters.
  • Evaluate the execution of multiple active projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Provide guidance to Security team on effective Responses for Proposal (RFP) to achieve cost savings and optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Support Security team’s readiness and contribute to achieving high organizational effectiveness ratings.
  • Manage program risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Proven experience in contracting and acquisitions, with a strong understanding of services, construction, and commodities
  • Demonstrated experience in managing significant budgets and funds
  • Experience serving as a liaison between diverse stakeholders, including government officials and intra-organization stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in contract administration and management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Adaptability and resilience in quickly changing business environment
  • Experience in program management and project oversight
  • Bachelor's degree in Contract Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • US Government position.  US Citizenshup required
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance 

What will help you on the job
  • Master's degree in Acquisition & Contracting Management is preferred
  • Knowledge of security protocols and compliance requirements is a plus
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Federal Contract Manager or Six Sigma Green Belt are desirable
