Job description

Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world’s most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.

Description

Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. As the Director of Contracts you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end proposal process including advising on government terms and conditions, leading contract negotiation, and contract administration. This includes activities ensuring proper contract execution and fulfillment by creating company policies and procedures to adhere to legal requirements, and customer specifications. You will support government contracts with legal and regulator compliance, and you will be integral to program success and new growth opportunities. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can’t be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and adhere to contractual obligations associated with US Government programs
  • Extremely proficient in understanding and communicating contract compliance and deliverables
  • Participate in contract proposal preparation
  • Lead contract negotiations, contract administration, and customer contract activities to manage US Government contracts in accordance with policies, legal requirements, and customer requirements
  • Ensure fulfillment of contract requirements and manage contract changes
  • Review and advise on Terms & Conditions, including FAR, DFAR, and other regulations governing US Government and commercial hardware and services contracts
  • Advise on company practices and policies to ensure compliance with all contractual requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 8+ years of professional experience – OR – JD with 5+ years of experience
  • Leadership experience
  • US Government contracting experience that includes FAR/DFAR compliance
  • Experience building Government contracting best practices from the ground up
  • Risk analysis experience
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders
  • Self-starter with demonstrated history of ownership and accountability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions
  • Team player with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 5 Range: $129,600 - $240,800
