Job description

Work Model: Work Model: You'll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location at least 3 days per week (Monday-Thursday), with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days, including Friday.

Position Overview:

The Director, Government Affairs is responsible for advancing Regal Rexnord's corporate advocacy strategy across global, federal, and state governments. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Trade Compliance, Government Affairs and Sustainability, this role serves as a strategic advisor and advocate for the enterprise, helping advance Regal Rexnord's priorities with policymakers, government agencies, trade associations, and external stakeholders.

The Director will support day-to-day execution of the company's advocacy efforts, build relationships with key decision makers, coordinate engagement across business units, and identify opportunities to shape policy outcomes that support Regal Rexnord's businesses and customers. The Director will work closely with segment leadership, business units, and the corporate functions to ensure advocacy activities support enterprise priorities and create tangible business value.

Key policy areas include trade and tariffs, manufacturing competitiveness, aerospace and defense, energy, infrastructure, supply chain resilience, and sustainability-related legislation and regulation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative, regulatory, and budget developments impacting the enterprise.

  • Represent the company in industry coalitions, trade associations, and advocacy forums to build the company's visibility and influence.

  • Engage with government officials, trade associations, and community stakeholders to support the company's global footprint and policy priorities.

  • Build and maintain strong bipartisan relationships with key congressional offices, especially those representing the company's domestic facilities and members of Armed Services, Appropriations, Energy & Commerce, Foreign Relations, Finance, and Ways & Means Committees.

  • Coordinate internally and externally to develop the company's response to regulatory proposals from agencies such as the United States Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, United States Trade Representative, and Department of Commerce, European Directorate-General for Energy, Mexico National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy, and Natural Resources Canada.

  • Partner with internal functions (Sourcing, Trade Compliance, EHS, Operations, Corporate Tax, Engineering) to identify emerging issues, risks, and opportunities, ensuring policy alignment with business strategy.

  • Coordinate the work of external lobbyists, consultants, and trade associations to ensure aligned messaging and execution.

  • Prepare executive updates and talking points for various internal working groups and meetings on legislative and regulatory topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, public administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in government affairs, regulatory compliance, or public policy; experience in industrial manufacturing strongly preferred.

  • Deep understanding of federal and state legislative and regulatory processes.

  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, and collaborative environment.

  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovative strategies and driving change across large, diverse organizations.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage all levels of management.

  • Leadership and negotiation skills.

  • Travel: Ability to Travel 25%

  • Location: Washington, DC; Milwaukee, WI; or Rosemont, IL preferred

  • This role reports directly to the Vice President, Trade Compliance, Government Affairs and Sustainability

Expected Base Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000

The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's basepaycompensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience,educationand internal peer compensationcomparisons among other potential factors.
