Summary
The Vice President of Technology is accountable for all information technology infrastructure and operations - including support, hardware, software, telecommunications, and network applications - and for AI governance and enterprise technology strategy across Joyce/Dayton Corp. This position proactively develops technology solutions and infrastructure strategies to ensure IT resource capacity successfully delivers system stability, support, and service, while enabling responsible business innovation through the adoption of AI and emerging technologies. This role sets the guardrails, standards, and strategic direction for AI and data. This position is Salary, Exempt, reporting to the CEO & President.
Job Description
Enterprise IT Strategy & Leadership
• Define and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals and long-term growth plans
• Partner with executive leadership to ensure technology investments support business priorities
• Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Team, providing thought leadership on systems, tools, connectivity, and service
• Manage system initiatives and provide advice and support to evaluate options with regard to the business as a whole
• Stay abreast of relevant industry and compliance trends - security, available technologies, incident recovery, and business continuity - and make recommendations accordingly
• Serve as a thought leader for enterprise risk management as it pertains to data delivery, integrity, and security
• Lead the evaluation and execution of strategic technology opportunities identified and approved by leadership
• Make recommendations concerning the effective selection and use of systems and software to enhance efficiency and maximize profitability
• Align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies
Digital Transformation and Innovation
• Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives across all areas of the business
• Identify and prioritize technologies that improve efficiency, automation, and performance
AI Governance & Oversight
Establish and maintain the AI governance framework: own the AI Acceptable Use Policy and lead periodic review to keep it aligned with corporate compliance and legal standards
• Set AI risk & compliance standards: define frameworks for "human-in-the-loop" vs. autonomous actions, and standards for accuracy, bias, and PII protection
• Approve the enterprise AI toolset: ensure company-approved tools are configured and deployed in compliance with data privacy standards, verifying data-sharing settings and PII protections
• Own AI-related incident processes: maintain channels for employees to report AI errors, inaccuracies, or security issues for investigation and resolution
• Set strategic direction on where AI creates value; sponsor AI literacy across the organization
Planning, Analysis & Reporting
Develop annual and multi-year IT budget, forecasts, and capital plans
• Develop strategic and operational improvement ideas, including adoption of best practices that serve the business
Data Strategy & Governance
• Own the enterprise data strategy and governance framework - including data quality, integrity, and the data readiness that analytics and applied-AI initiatives depend on
• Set standards for analytics and BI platforms and ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services and solutions
• Promote a data-driven culture across the organization
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
• Develop and enforce enterprise cybersecurity strategies and controls
• Protect company data, intellectual property, and operational systems
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and data privacy requirements
• Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning
Staff Leadership
• Develop, mentor, and retain a high-performing team, including the Director of Applied AI and Analytics, Network Administrator and IT Support Technician, to meet short- and long-term business needs
• Set expectations and manage performance, providing regular coaching, feedback, and accountability
• Leverage team strengths and align department structure, roles, and responsibilities to support continued success
• Utilize external resources as needed to provide technical and functional expertise
• Promote teamwork and collaboration across the Company through coordinated communication

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
• 10-15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including company-wide responsibility
• Proven success leading enterprise IT strategy, digital transformation, and large-scale system implementations
• Strong expertise in: ERP systems; Windows Server environments; cybersecurity and data governance; business intelligence and analytics platforms; communication systems and computer hardware
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting and capital planning; vendor management and contract negotiation; cross-functional leadership; and project management methodologies
• Familiarity with AI governance and responsible-use principles sufficient to set enterprise policy
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage, and phone systems, including EPICOR, QLIK, Service Desk, and Google platform
• Travel up to 20%
