Job description

Meir Property Group is seeking a Maintenance Tech to perform property repairs, unit turnovers, and renovation projects.

What We Offer:

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (On-call required at least 8 weeks per year).
  • Pay & Classification: Full-Time, Hourly.
  • Location: Sun Prairie, WI (Servicing local properties).
  • Equipment: Truck and certain tools may be provided by company (must have reliable transportation and basic personal tools).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform household maintenance and repairs including drywall, painting, basic plumbing (changing faucets, garbage disposals), basic electrical (light fixtures), HVAC (cleaning furnaces and AC condensers), gutter cleaning, and seasonal maintenance.
  • Execute detailed scope of work plans and punch lists for renovation and unit turn projects.
  • Plan, measure, and order building materials for renovation projects.
  • Take ownership when troubleshooting maintenance issues, utilizing resources to learn new techniques with a goal of utilizing in-house expertise before hiring third-party vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants to schedule property entry.
  • Utilize a smartphone to log hours, track work orders, upload receipts and completion photos, and access building information via Google Docs and Sheets.
  • Purchase required supplies using property management software and corporate vendor accounts, properly recording transactions.
  • Maintain company tools and trailer.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of basic household maintenance (landscaping, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, demo, finish trim).
  • Proficiency using smartphones, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and personal tools.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Good attendance record and ability to be on-call after hours at least 8 weeks per year.
