Stefanini is looking for a Senior Software Developer (Dearborn, MI)
This role will serve as the primary Mainframe Developer supporting the Recall Suite of applications, ensuring stability of existing systems while driving modernization initiatives toward Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The engineer will be responsible for both production support and feature development, working closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, and engineering teams to deliver high-impact solutions aligned with business and compliance needs. This role requires strong mainframe expertise, the ability to operate in a production support environment, and a mindset geared toward modernization and continuous improvement.
Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a core member of the team supporting Recall and Software FSA applicationsProvide on-call and production support, ensuring system stability and timely issue resolutionDevelop and maintain COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related mainframe componentsSupport mandatory compliance and feature enhancements for Software FSA initiativesManage and prioritize backlog items, including defects and enhancementsCollaborate with product teams to ensure strong business and customer value deliveryParticipate in the modernization journey toward Google Cloud Platform migration, working with internal teams and vendorsPerform systems support activities including security, audit, and maintenance tasksExecute unit and integration testing for delivered solutionsTroubleshoot and resolve production incidents with urgency and independence
Required Qualifications6+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in developmentStrong hands-on experience in Mainframe systems developmentAdvanced proficiency in at least one or more of the following: COBOL (IMS), JCL, DB2, CA7 scheduling, COBOL Stored Procedures, Batch and real-time processing systemsExperience with system-to-system integrations, including: z/OS Connect, SFTP, SOAP and REST APIsExperience with source control tools such as Endevor and GitHubStrong troubleshooting skills in production and incident environmentsAbility to work independently and manage priorities based on business impactStrong communication, teamwork, and organizational skillsExperience with unit testing and integration testing
Preferred SkillsExperience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)Experience with BigQueryFamiliarity with mainframe database environments and modernization patterns
