Job Title: Software Development Engineer – Python

Experience Level: Minimum 2+ Years of Core Python Software Development

Target Candidates: Graduates/Postgraduates from Premium Engineering Institutes (IITs, NITs, IIITs, BITS, Tier-1 Universities)

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Software Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building scalable, robust software applications using Python.

Note: We are specifically seeking a Python Software Developer/Engineer—someone who writes production-ready, clean, modular Python code and understands software design patterns, backend development, and database architecture—rather than a Python user/scripting user.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Application Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy production-grade applications, modules, and REST APIs using Python.
  • Database Design & Management: Build, query, and optimize relational and/or non-relational databases connected to Python backends.
  • Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, readable, modular, and reusable Python code adhering to OOP, SOLID principles, and proper software engineering practices.
  • System Optimization: Analyze application performance, debug bottlenecks, and optimize database queries and backend workflows.
  • Testing & Version Control: Write unit tests, perform integration testing, and maintain code versioning through Git.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional product, architecture, and engineering teams to turn feature requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field from a Tier-1 / Premium Institute.
  • Core Python Expertise: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated experience in software development with Python (deep understanding of data structures, OOPs, asynchronous programming, modules, and packaging).
  • Database Experience:
    • Strong hands-on experience interfacing Python with databases using ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM) or native drivers.
    • Practical knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis), including writing complex SQL queries and indexing.
  • Backend / Web Frameworks: Proficiency with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals: Strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and system design basics.
  • Development Tools: Proficient with Git, Linux environments, Docker, and RESTful API integration.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with message queues or event streams (e.g., RabbitMQ, Celery, Kafka).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform) and CI/CD pipelines.

Key Competencies

  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills.
  • Obsession with code quality, test coverage, and software design patterns.
  • Clear technical communication and collaborative mindset.
