  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in C .
  • 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience working in a global organization.
  • Experience managing a team of software engineers.
  • Experience with performance optimization of software systems, and debugging distributed software systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale, real-time software systems, and with software-defined networking.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of software engineers, including sub-managers.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team as they design, develop, integrate and test the features for B4 availability and NPI.
  • Prioritize work and ensure that incremental progress is made even if the problems are difficult to solve.
  • Help team members and partner teams understand the broader context, and solve the problems at the time.
  • Be comfortable with changes in the execution plan if they are enabling the right impact for Google.
