Job description

Triage Engagement and Solutions (Contract)

Latitude AI develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. We're driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it's like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When you join the Latitude team, you'll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering โ€“ all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.

As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.

Meet the team:

Latitude's Triage Operations team is a growing group of experts specializing in our vehicle technology and programs. We analyze large datasets from our comprehensive testing program, encompassing on-road testing, closed-course track testing, virtual simulations, and re-simulations of real-world driving logs. This analysis allows us to identify, classify, and track vehicle performance issues and improvements. Triage Operations serves as a vital communication hub, connecting Operations, Systems Engineering, Virtual Test, and Autonomy teams to ensure a fully integrated engineering lifecycle. The insights generated directly improve our systems and machine learning algorithms, enabling us to continuously learn from challenging scenarios and enhance vehicle performance.

This contract will be 12 months in length.

What you'll do:

  • Operate as a subject matter expert for multiple high-level team functions with minimal to no supervision, including developing and then presenting metrics and reports to leadership
  • Independently utilize technical skills to identify areas of improvement across core operational processes, including software tooling development, process documentation/policy and team scope
  • Lead engagement between internal and external teams to identify and drive solutions for Triage support
  • Build and maintain tools that support Triage workflows, targeting operational efficiencies and data driven analysis for reporting
  • Lead in writing, maintaining and owning documentation that is concise, clear, and logical to help support the decision making process for safety critical issues across the company's various lines of engineering
  • Assist management with setting quarterly objectives, including defining and developing necessary requirements
  • Own the development of net new operational processes while communicating with internal management and external stakeholders (e.g. Systems Engineering, Autonomy Developers, Executive Leadership, etc.) to further support business operations
  • Lead alongside cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve technical software layout development, operational procedures, and executive metric reporting
  • Work in an operational but fast-paced environment emphasizing your attention to detail
  • Mentor and train team members in domain of expertise

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of employment experience required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree with four years of employment experience or a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with six years of employment experience required
  • Ability to learn new software tools and technologies quickly
  • Strong Experience using Atlassian products (Confluence/Jira)
  • Excellent communication skills to work with other team members from cross-functional engineering teams
  • Thorough analytical skills to assess the cause, impact, and severity of issues while utilizing and developing detailed documentation
  • Strong attention to detail in working with cross functional engineering teams
  • Willingness to quickly adapt to changes in process
  • Interest and desire to work in the development of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS)

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with ADAS automation testing products
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets experience
  • Experience working independently on complex problems
  • Experience working in an operations environment focused on improving both quality and time on task
  • Experience working in a software/IT, operational or STEM environment
  • Experience using data visualization software such as Looker or Superset
  • Experience with technical writing

The expected hourly pay range for this contract position in California is $33.78 - $56.68/hour USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
