Job description

Job Title: Fire Alarm System Inspector
Salary: $74,000.00 - $104,000.00 per year
Job Summary:
NexCore is seeking qualified Fire Alarm System Inspectors to complete inspection and service requests at various customer locations throughout their assigned territory.
Candidates must hold the required professional license/certification that allows them to legally perform fire alarm inspections in their state. We are looking for dependable, self-motivated inspectors who can work independently, communicate effectively, and complete inspections in accordance with applicable NFPA standards and state/local requirements.
As a Fire Alarm System Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting and testing fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly and meet all required standards. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a customer-service-focused approach.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and complete fire alarm system inspections.
  • Perform testing and inspections on fire alarm systems.
  • Coordinate with the local fire department or monitoring company, when required, to avoid unnecessary dispatch during testing.
  • Identify system deficiencies and communicate repair needs to the appropriate service department.
  • Advise customers of inspection results and any identified deficiencies.
  • Complete inspection documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate clearly with your Area Coordinator regarding completed inspections, reschedules, access issues, and any onsite concerns.
  • Respond efficiently to assigned service calls and inspection requests.
  • Identify urgent issues and respond quickly to support customer needs.
  • Use geographical maps, Google Maps, and scheduling tools to route work effectively.
  • Answer and manage communication with customers and internal office staff as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of service calls, inspection results, and customer communication.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Full-Time / Part-Time Position:
  • Full-time or part-time opportunities available.
  • 40+ hours weekly available for full-time candidates.
  • Monday through Friday schedule, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility as needed.
  • Travel required throughout assigned territory.
  • Remote field-based position.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must hold the required professional license/certification to perform fire alarm inspections in the applicable state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of post-high school education preferred.
  • Fire alarm inspection experience required.
  • Electrical, low-voltage, or fire alarm background preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Basic skills using an Apple iPad or similar tablet required.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and use a ladder up to 8 ft.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Travel:
  • 100% travel within assigned territory.
  • Remote field-based work.
