About the job
A problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. That's why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As the Global Technical Program Manager for the Cross Functional Program (CFP), Google Data Center Operations Tiered Meeting Structure, you will advocate and continually optimize this strategic initiative to drive consistency, efficiency, and economies of scale. You will own and restructure CFP to bring cross-functional partner teams, such as GSO running the server floor, Data Center Operations (DCOps) managing infrastructure, and EHS ensuring safety, together for highly productive site-level operational discussions. You will apply the proper program accuracy to transition localized, 5-minute check-in meetings into a structured operational framework that resolves cross-functional dependencies and accelerates Machine Learning (ML) deployments.
You will accomplish this by taking a step to establish the necessary foundational structure, developing a program charter, Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), RACI matrices, and process flow charts with swimlanes. You will also orchestrate the program strategy, define the tiered engagement model, and build the governance structure needed to ensure the program scales with exponential business growth.
Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $192000 - $278000 (USD) 20% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Design and launch the global CFP structured engagement model, standardizing business rhythms across all tiers to ensure uniform decision-making.
  • Establish strict program accuracy by developing foundational artifacts from scratch, including charters, BRDs, RACI models, and detailed workflow charts.
  • Govern performance through Data Center KPI scorecards, defining key metrics and clear escalation paths to address underperformance.
  • Lead change management to promote proactive, high-velocity operational planning, continuously refining and scaling processes to support business growth.
  • Deploy AI/ML technologies to solve complex problems, automate administrative tasks, and deliver scalable business impact.
