This is a highly detail-oriented, desk-based position focused on reviewing, verifying, organizing, and linking large volumes of land documents to the appropriate GIS parcels and pipeline assets.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of land/ROW knowledge and strong hands-on GIS and data-management skills. Experience with Quorum On Demand Land (ODL) is preferred, but candidates with comparable land-management or GIS systems experience will be considered.

Important: This role is expected to remain primarily desk-based for the duration of the assignment. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed computer-based records and GIS work throughout the workday and be genuinely interested in a long-term, data-focused assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify land and right-of-way documents associated with pipeline assets.
  • Use GIS software and parcel data to accurately identify properties, tracts, pipeline assets, and associated ownership information.
  • Link/associate digital land agreements and documents with the appropriate GIS parcels.
  • Enter, update, verify, and audit land and parcel information within Quorum ODL or similar land-management systems.
  • Review Grantor/Grantee information, recording data, legal descriptions, tract information, affected assets, and other document details.
  • Interpret legal descriptions, plats, alignment sheets, maps, and supporting documentation.
  • Review documents including easements, deeds, leases, permits, assignments, and other land agreements.
  • Research alternative source documentation when alignment sheets are unavailable.
  • Maintain accurate digital records and ensure documentation is properly categorized and associated with the correct parcel.
  • Perform data-quality checks and identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Support land-document migration and data-cleanup projects.
  • Use Google Earth, ESRI/GIS tools, Excel, Word, and Outlook as part of daily activities.
  • Perform other land records and GIS-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with land records, land administration, ROW, title, or pipeline documentation.
  • Hands-on GIS experience, preferably with ESRI products.
  • Demonstrated experience working with parcel data and/or spatial data.
  • Experience with data management systems, land-management systems, GIS databases, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Ability to interpret legal descriptions, plats, alignment sheets, and maps.
  • Understanding of easements, deeds, leases, permits, assignments, and other land agreements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, highly accurate data-review tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Google Earth or comparable mapping tools.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Quorum On Demand Land (ODL) experience.
  • Experience linking land agreements/documents to GIS parcels.
  • Experience migrating land records into Quorum or other land-management systems.
  • Pipeline, midstream, oil & gas, utility, or ROW experience.
  • Experience with large-scale land-record data cleanup or migration projects.
  • Experience working with GIS parcel databases or spatial data management.
