Marymount University welcomes applications for the position of Athletics Bus Driver. This position will report directly to the Athletics Business Manager. The Bus driver is a part-time hourly position with the responsibilities of transporting our student-athletes, coaches and staff to and from practice and events that occur off campus. Adherence to institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III policies and procedures is required. Clean Class B CDL License with passenger endorsements is required. The candidate must be familiar with DOT rules and requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transportation of students, coaches and staff to practice and competition venues (90%)
  • Ability to work with google documents, check and respond to e-mail and phone calls. Training on google docs will be provided (5%)
  • Must keep written log of activity transportation for all University events (3%)
  • Help with light cleaning and inform supervisor when maintenance is needed (2%)
  • Transport sports teams and students to off-campus events and practices from mid-August thru end of May; hours per week will vary during playing seasons and dependent on driver availability.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule; hours and days will vary depending on athletic schedules; nights and weekends are required. A pool of drivers will create flexibility and drivers will submit their availability for scheduling purposes.
  • Bus: 2022 Eldorado Advantage XL 40 International bus 8 feet wide and 40.5 feet long. Full cab - driver OEM seating. Max 36 passengers with full width back storage area (outside access).
  • GPS unit to determine best route to destination provided on itinerary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • High School degree or GED
Experience
  • Familiar with DOT rules and requirements. Ability to read basic instructions, road signs and maps, and be able to keep a written log of activity.
  • Strong communications skills including the ability to communicate by telephone/e-mail/text.
  • Strong customer service abilities with emphasis on customer satisfaction
  • Strong organizational & Time management skills
  • Positive attitude with a professional appearance
  • Willingness to learn and be coached as needed
  • Collegiate or scholastic transportation experience preferred.
Licenses or Certifications
  • Valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsements.

Compensation/Total Rewards
The hourly rate for this position is $23.46. It is competitive, market-based, and aligned with the University's financial framework. Part-time employees are eligible to contribute the university's 403(b) retirement plan on their own.
