Job description

How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:
As a DevSecOps Engineer with MTSI, you will be responsible for aiding in the solutioning, implementing, and sustaining cloud-native and traditional infrastructure, tools, and technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring security posture meets any requirements. You will aid in the decomposition of requirements and the planning of tasking. You will help oversee and contribute to the development, testing, operations, and sustainment of the solutions and environments the team supports. You will interface frequently with stakeholders across different disciplines and organizations. This role is an in-person role that is located with our government customer's organization at WPAFB.

Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:
• Help create and maintain IT related processes for planning, execution, and reporting to include: DevSecOps, Requirements management, Architecture, Integration, Verification and Validation, Transition, Configuration Management, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cloud Technology Services, Multi-level Security Solutions, and Software Development Lifecyle.
• Embrace and champion Agile development processes and adopt modern DevSecOps workflows and practices while providing technical guidance to team members and coworkers on best practices.
• Write documentation for DevSecOps standards, processes, designs, and other required documentation.
• Help manage interactions with technology vendors to discuss features, relevant architectural needs, etc. to meet ecosystem requirements.
• Help design and define system architecture for new / existing systems.
• Support and contribute to the implementation, expansion, configuration, compliance, security, operations, and maintenance of multiple technologies and tools on different ecosystems.
• Oversee and manage site reliability of the systems.
• Help oversee and manage CI/CD activities for the system infrastructure and tooling.
• Ensure the security and other best practices are being used throughout all processes.
• Collaborate with Information Assurance and Cybersecurity SMEs to ensure security controls are implemented and requirements are met.
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code for Cloud services.
Qualifications Required:
• 10+ years combined experience working as a Network, Cloud, Security, Software, DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Experience developing design and standards documentation.
• Experience with Active Directory, IDPs, SSO, domain controllers, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, remote access, VLANs, or other system administrative technologies.
• Experience with technologies including Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Istio, ArgoCD, GitLab, GitLab CI, Nexus, Grype, Syft, OpenSCAP, NeuVector, Grafana, Jira, Confluence, SonarQube, TwistLock, Coder, Packer, Terraform, Ansible or equivalent/related technologies.
• Experience with common modern programming languages (Python, Go, C++, Java, etc.).
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud services, including Kubernetes, networking, storage, and compute.
• Proficiency with implementing and practicing GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps.
• Proficiency with maintaining lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters, infrastructure, and tools.
• Proficiency with creating enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Required Certifications: CompTIA Security+
Even better if you have these desired skills:
• Experience with cloud providers like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, or Nutanix
• Strong analytical abilities to handle multiple projects while maintaining focus on primary tasks
• Experience with Containerization and Orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, K8S, K3S)
• Clear communication skills and the ability to develop written documentation and technical deliverables
Clearance Requirements:
• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility).
