Senior Hybrid Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer
Location: Wayne, Pennsylvania (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Hybrid Cloud Engineer with a strong DevOps focus. This role requires deep expertise in Linux and hands-on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) experience. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical thought leader, shaping our technical landscape and contributing to a dynamic team focused on innovation and collaboration. This position involves working with advanced Google Cloud and Gemini solutions to drive business impact.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical authority and escalation point for Linux and Google Cloud Platform operational issues.
  • Provide advanced Tier 3 technical infrastructure, DevOps, and engineering support for complex challenges.
  • Support the operational stability for microservices and web-based workloads.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Act as a key participant in new feature development, working with leadership and engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Contribute to documentation, automation scripts, and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a bridge between platform operations and DevOps or engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
Experience: An undergraduate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 8 years of cloud engineering experience, including at least 4 years in Google Cloud Platform environments. This includes strong experience in Linux system administration (OS troubleshooting, patching, mounts) and supporting Google Cloud Platform platform health and alerting.
Technical Skills: Extensive hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD concepts is required. Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery is necessary. A strong background in pipeline automation is also needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms, particularly Vertex AI and Gemini.
  • Google Cloud Platform Professional Cloud Architect or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience supporting Agile/Scrum software development teams.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and foster a growth mindset within a team.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates should be based in a location that allows for a commute to the Wayne, Pennsylvania office.
