With a focus on empowering individuals to achieve greater independence and inclusion in the community, Ohio Valley Goodwill has been serving the Greater Cincinnati area for over 100 years.
POSITION SUMMARY: (WHAT, HOW, WHY)
The Production Lead plays a key role in supporting leadership by driving daily operational excellence and reinforcing Goodwill’s mission and brand standards. This role provides hands-on leadership in production, supports performance goals, and serves as a role model for professionalism, service, and teamwork at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: None

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in customer service preferred. Ability to work independently in unsupervised situations. Sixteen years or older.

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS: Proper lifting, stacking and sorting methods preferred.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Support the Production Manager and Assistant Production Manager with day-to-day operations
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, including, but not limited to, reporting theft or misuse of company property or other illegal activities
  • Provide coaching, direction, and training to production team on job related responsibilities
  • Make recommendations to Asst Mgr. or Manager related to disciplinary or corrective action
  • Inspect and validate accurate pricing and quality of production
  • Ensure production team is working at a pace that will ensure the team achieves daily production goals
  • Support day-to-day operations, including inventory counts, pricing, and other areas as needed
  • Always act as a brand ambassador, representing Goodwill in a professional manner and protecting the organization’s reputation
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior, refrain from any unprofessional conduct
  • Communicate effectively with production leadership and team members regarding priorities, goals, and daily expectations
  • Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact when management is not immediately available
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and accountability
  • Other duties assigned by leadership


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is responsible for training and delegating work assignments to the Merchandise Processor & Material Handler positions
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods of time
  • Work a flexible schedule in support of production including night, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with internal and external customers
  • Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit or stand for eight hours.
  • Ability to bend and twist.
  • Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Moderate warehouse noise
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard, reach, stoop and kneel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate
  • Key to note, the role will not allow use of headphones or personal cell phone during shift due to safety concerns
