Job Summary:

The Facilities Manager assists the Director of Facilities with the coordination and scheduling of work/repairs on and within Goodwill facilities, including janitorial services, basic and preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, and contracted maintenance completed by outside vendors.

Provides oversight over the effective and efficient completion of maintenance requests for Goodwill’s premises, facilities, and equipment ensuring that all is maintained in a safe, secure, and orderly manner, and to the highest degree of cleanliness. Supports a culture of training and development for Facilities and Janitorial employees. Supports oversight and staffing for first, second and third shift employees, including supplementing staffing for contracted Facilities Maintenance Program clients as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

High School or GED required.

Experience

Three to five years prior maintenance/construction industry or facility management experience required.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration

Florida driver’s license required with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

Ability to perform basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems maintenance is required.

Knowledge in building codes and safety regulations is preferred.

Facilities maintenance certification in relevant fields is preferred.

Other

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to work with co-workers and the public.

Basic understanding/skill in the operation of a variety of hand tools and equipment common to the building trades and/or HVAC filtration systems, etc.

Must adhere to all safety standards and established work practices. Should be well organized and able to adjust to changing job requirements.

Essential Duties

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Supervises Janitorial Supervisor and Facilities Maintenance Technicians serving Goodwill facilities.
  • Manages the timely completion of work order tickets and tracks trends to identify planning needs or efficiency opportunities.
  • Ensures that outside services are properly completed in accordance with contracts and work orders.
  • Maintains accurate equipment and supplies inventory for facilities maintenance and janitorial work.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment across all Goodwill facilities. Makes recommendations for future projects or facility enhancements as needed.
  • Assists in providing hands on training experience for the facilities team and fosters a learning and skill development environment.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, and other departments within Goodwill, to assure that proper maintenance can be scheduled and performed to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Monitors the work of outside vendors to ensure compliance with Goodwill’s established safety procedures.
  • Hires and trains staff as needed to complete regular maintenance, preventive maintenance and troubleshoot facilities issues as they arise.
  • Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits to proper personnel.
  • Must be available for calls on weekend and holidays for urgent requests. May be required to work outside of normal operating hours and scheduled on an on-call basis.
