Job description

Required Travel: 25%
Position Type: Salaried
Salary Range: $70,000.00 - 82,000.00
MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional School Administrator (Cape Girardeau) to join our Cape Girardeau Excel Center team! The ideal candidate will support our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!" and embody our core values of diversity, integrity, passion, professionalism, respect, and responsibility.
If you're seeking an opportunity that empowers you to achieve new goals while pursuing a mission-driven career, then this is the perfect fit for you.
About the Role
The Excel Center School Administrator role is not a traditional principal role. It's a role where adult learners, who have chosen to invest in themselves, are the center of our daily work. Unlike traditional graduates, our graduates are parents, grandparents, caretakers, and family members who receive a credit-bearing diploma (not a GED) with generations of loved ones cheering in the seats. This role will challenge your mental models of what school can be and what it can do to change lives through the power of work. Your innovative leadership will rewrite the ending of our students' educational past and start a new story of their families' lives with rewarding careers and sustainable wages. Your school's success isn't about test scores, it's your team's ability to transition our students into the workforce and become economically self-sufficient.
If you're ready for a bucket-filling leadership opportunity alongside passionate, mission-driven educators, this could be the next chapter in your professional journey.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution and a Missouri Administrator certification K-12 (earned or eligible) is required.
  • Required to have at-least 1-year of direct educational supervisory experience; five years of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written skills and knowledge of Missouri educational requirements to receive a high school diploma is strongly preferred.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a positive and productive school culture built on professionalism, trust, respect, relationships, communication, and collaboration for students and staff.
  • Develop and implement programs, partnerships, activities, and objectives for staff and students aligned to the Employability Skills Framework.
  • Effectively facilitate collaboration among different stakeholders, staff members, and outside partners to increase school enrollment and broaden industry-recognized training opportunities for students.
  • Ensure adequate staffing by scheduling, hiring, supervising, and evaluating full-time and adjunct employees.
  • Develop, implement, and utilize systems to track student progress, barrier removal, and staff performance.
  • Cultivate community relationships that raise the program's profile and grow into pathways for students to pursue their desired career pathway.
  • Participate in agency-level and Goodwill Education Initiatives (GEI) network-level training programs and conferences.
  • Implement agency policies related to Facilities, IT, Human Resources, and Business/Finance.
  • Maintain organizational priorities while nimbly adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Balance autonomy and accountability as a leader within the program model.
  • Serve on the district leadership team to lead and grow The Excel Center program in Missouri.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits
