We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director of Business Services to lead our Business Services department. In this role, the director would oversee manufacturing, production, contract operations, and continuous improvement initiatives while advancing our mission and supporting opportunities for the individuals we serve.

The Director of Business Services is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Goodwill's Business Services Department, including manufacturing, production operations, business development, customer relationships, quality systems, financial performance, and team development.

This position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the department operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.

The successful candidate will possess extensive operations, production, or manufacturing leadership experience and demonstrate the ability to develop teams, drive process improvements, manage projects, analyze business data, and build strong customer relationships in support of Goodwill's mission.

The Director of Business Services is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Goodwill Industries of Kansas' Business Services Department. Essential functions include:

• Lead manufacturing, production, and contract operations to ensure quality, efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
• Identifyoperational gaps and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance.
• Oversee project planning, production scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
• Build, develop, and coach high-performing managers, supervisors, and staff through effective leadership and accountability.
• Monitor and analyze operational, financial, and production data to drive informed business decisions.
• Develop departmental budgets, forecasts, and revenue projections whilemaintainingexpense-to-revenue goals.
• Direct the bidding, evaluation, and acquisition of contract opportunities to support organizational growth.
• Establish clear performance expectations and ensure employees have the training, tools, and support necessary to succeed.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, community partners, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, safety, and organizational standards.
• Advance Goodwill's mission by creating meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strength in the following areas:

Ability to lead complex manufacturing, production, or operational environments while balancing customer needs, quality expectations, financial performance, and workforce development.

Ability to build strong teams through coaching, mentoring, accountability, succession planning, and leadership development. Ability to lead teams through organizational change, process improvements, and business growth while maintaining engagement and operational stability.

Ability to interpret operational and financial data, utilize spreadsheets and reporting tools, forecast business needs, and make data-driven decisions.

Ability to evaluate current operations, identify improvement opportunities, anticipate future needs, and create actionable plans that support organizational goals. Experience managing multiple priorities, coordinating projects, setting timelines, tracking progress, and achieving operational objectives.

Demonstrated commitment to identifying inefficiencies, closing operational gaps, improving processes, and driving sustainable results.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly set expectations, provide feedback, present information, and build collaboration across teams.

• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, production, operations, supply chain, or related environment.
• Direct experience in a production, operations, supply chain, project management, or related business services environment required.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, developing talent, and improving operational performance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize operational metrics, spreadsheets, data, forecasting, and financial reporting to support decision-making.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Business , Operations Management, Manufacturing, or a related field .

• Experience with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience overseeing production planning, capacity planning, and process improvement programs.
