What you're great at: 

  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Strong attention to detail skills, making sure products are properly portioned and labeled.
  • Good time management skills, ability to stay on task with little direction.


A day in the life: 

  • Participate in food prep and/or production for the department and others as directed. 
  • Following established procedures, prep, pack and label food items according to assigned production schedule. 
  • Able to work with all products required to satisfy the assigned production list including: vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy, nuts and grains.
  • Ensure that food items are dated, stocked, rotated and all out of date items are removed. 
  • Ensure prep and food storage areas are maintained in sanitary, orderly condition meeting Health Department standards. 
  • Adhere to safe food handling procedures at the prep station, walk-in and waste management areas.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling. 
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts.
  • Individuals are responsible for opening and closing procedures as assigned.
