Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our hospital facility, offering a dynamic work environment that includes both outpatient and inpatient care settings. As a Physician Assistant working within our cardiology department, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals dedicated to providing specialized care to our diverse patient population. Hours for this position are scheduled Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess the physical and mental condition of patients.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures to develop treatment protocols.
  • Prescribe medications and develop therapeutic treatment plans in adherence to established protocols, ensuring safe and effective care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to create, implement, and evaluate comprehensive patient treatment plans based on the latest best practices and clinical guidelines.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatment options, and preventive care, including diet, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, detailing treatment plans and patient progress.
  • Engage in continuous professional education to stay abreast of the latest advancements in cardiology and patient care practices.
  • Perform invasive procedures as delegated by the supervising physician, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
  • Adapt to the evolving healthcare landscape by participating in outreach or additional departmental duties as needed.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of patients suffering from cardiovascular conditions, ranging from acute illnesses to chronic management needs. The emphasis is placed on collaboration with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of care and effective management of patient health issues.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program, with a Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Active Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of Kansas.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within cardiology.
