If you are seeking a career working with dogs, common roles include dog trainer, dog walker, animal shelter worker, or service dog handler. These jobs involve caring for dogs, training them, or supporting dog owners. What are the typical responsibilities and challenges for a dog trainer at Good Dog, and how does the role involve collaboration with pet owners?

As a Dog Trainer at Good Dog, you will spend most days conducting training sessions, assessing dogs’ behavior, and creating customized training plans. A significant part of the job involves educating and collaborating with pet owners to ensure consistency and reinforce desired behaviors outside of sessions. Challenges can include working with dogs that have behavioral issues or owners with varying levels of experience and commitment. Success in this role requires patience, clear communication, and the ability to tailor your approach for each dog-owner pair. You’ll often work independently but will also partner closely with other trainers and support staff to share strategies and track progress.

Company Description
We've been here since the beginning
Dogwalks is one of the original San Francisco dog walking companies, and one of the oldest. We've been successful because we've stuck to our beliefs-
  • in small walking groups,
  • in putting clients first,
  • in finding ways on a daily basis to make the parks and beaches we walk better places than we found them,
