The Golfer’s Journal creates thoughtfully designed products for golfers who appreciate craftsmanship, timeless design, and the stories that make the game special. From premium apparel and accessories to exclusive member merchandise and limited-edition collaborations, every product is created with intention, quality, and a deep respect for the culture of golf.

We’re looking for an Associate Designer who is passionate about product, energized by the game, and excited to help shape the future of The Golfer’s Journal merchandise. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing creativity with execution and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Position Summary:

The Associate Designer will support the design and development of premium accessories, graphics, and cut-and-sew apparel across both Inline collections and Special Make-Ups (SMUs)/Energy Drops. Working closely with the Senior Product Manager, this individual will help bring seasonal concepts to life, from ideation and technical development through production.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience in apparel or accessories design, preferably within the golf, outdoor, or premium lifestyle industry. An avid golfer or someone deeply connected to golf culture is highly preferred.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position requiring the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate across Product, Creative, Events, Marketing, Merchandising, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design premium accessories, graphics, and cut-and-sew apparel aligned with The Golfer’s Journal brand
  • Ideate, design, and present new graphic, accessory, and apparel concepts aligned with the brand direction and seasonal vision
  • Design for Inline collections and Special Make-Ups (SMUs)/Energy Drops
  • Create, maintain, and update detailed tech packs throughout development
  • Ensure all tech packs remain accurate and current
  • Partner with the Senior Product Manager to review samples and execute revisions
  • Build cohesive seasonal assortments across apparel, accessories, and limited-edition collections
  • Manage both Inline and SMU calendars simultaneously
  • Collaborate with Product, Merchandising, Creative, Marketing, Events, Operations, and vendors
  • Present concepts, palettes, materials, and graphics during reviews
  • Participate in fittings, sample reviews, and production meetings
  • Stay current on golf merchandise, apparel, materials, graphics, and consumer trends
  • Support collaborations and member-exclusive launches
Qualifications:
  • 2–3 years of apparel and/or accessories design experience
  • Golf industry experience preferred
  • Avid golfer or golf enthusiast preferred
  • Strong knowledge of apparel construction, graphics, and accessories
  • Experience creating detailed tech packs
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
Preferred Skills:
  • Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite
  • PLM experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Asana is a plus
  • Understanding of sourcing and manufacturing
