Established in 2000 and based in Atlanta, Georgia, Bobby Jones Links is a club management and development company serving private, resort, daily fee, and public courses. Live Oaks Golf Club, managed by Bobby Jones Links, opened in 1969, designed by architect John F. Stahl. We are an 18-hole, par 71 semi-private course sitting on 130 acres just northwest of Jackson. The course stretches just under 6,600 yards with gently rolling fairways through a parkland setting shaded by 200-year-old live oak trees. Live Oaks has undergone quite the transformation over the last six years with the creation of the Reed House, Top-5 in state wedding venue, renovation of our Roosevelt's restaurant and construction of our "Bunkhouse" which is one the most unique accommodations in Mississippi. Through these projects and future plans, Live Oaks is primed to become a premier destination for all golfers in and around Jackson.
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated 1st Assistant Golf Professional to lead the daily operations of our golf department and this new chapter in Live Oaks history. This a unique opportunity to help set the direction for the club from the ground up. You'll be working alongside a PGA General Manager with over 15 years' experience and Public Merchandiser of the Year award winner. The intention is for this candidate to grow into the Head Golf Professional role in 2-3 years' time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional service to members and guests at all times
  • Manage daily golf operations, including opening and closing of the Pro Shop
  • Assist in the planning and execution of golf tournaments and club events
  • Recruit, hire, and train new team members as needed
  • Create training programs, operational standards, and manuals
  • Generate weekly scheduling for all golf department team members
  • Participate in our merchandising program which includes ordering, receiving, displaying, and inventory control
  • Devise best practices to maximize merchandise sales
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times

Schedule
  • 5-day work week in the off-season (November-February)
  • Up to 6-day work week in season based on club calendar (March-October)
