Job description

We are looking for a Golf Course Spray Technician to join the RP family!

Under the direction of the Lead Superintendent, the Golf Course Spray Technician accurately and safely applies any and all pest control products and liquid fertilizers within the guidelines of local, state and federal laws and the Royal Poinciana Green & Grounds IPM program. Supports and assists in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program by demonstrating integrated plant management and "IPM" practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:
โ€ข Responsible for application and recording of fertilizers and pesticides on the golf courses and grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
โ€ข Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures in a strict fashion.
โ€ข Furthers their continued development by participating in appropriate seminars and conferences as approved by the Lead Superintendent.
โ€ข Will coordinate internally with the Irrigation Specialist and technicians, Assistant Superintendent, Equipment Manager, and staff (when appropriate).
โ€ข Will remain current at all times with IPM principals and how it applies to personal safety, environmental accountability, all associated pesticides and materials, cost of materials, application equipment, proper application practices, cost of application equipment, care and maintenance of equipment.
โ€ข Will remain current with all local, state and federal laws associated with pesticide use and all mix/load procedures established by Royal Poinciana Golf Club.
โ€ข Exhibits proactive leadership in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program as it applies to this department's environmental responsibility.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:
โ€ข Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข Prior golf and country club experience preferred.
โ€ข Possess or will obtain a current State of Florida, Ornamental and Turf restricted use pesticide license with ninety (90) days of employment.
โ€ข Requires a valid Florida driver's license.
Language: Ability to read, write and comprehend complex correspondence, memos, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees.
Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pay & Benefits:
This is a year-round, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, eligible for overtime. Hourly pay is competitive and varies depending on the candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities.
