Position:

Golf Pro Shop Attendant (Part-Time Seasonal; Non-Exempt)

Department:

Bailey Ranch Golf Course โ€“ Golf Pro Shop

Job Summary:

The Golf Pro Shop Attendant assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the Bailey Ranch Golf Pro Shop, providing fast and friendly customer service to Pro Shop patrons. General duties include customer check-in, customer booking, pro shop cleanliness, along with other responsibilities to maintain a professional Pro Shop. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Golf Pro and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Salary:

  • $14.35 per hour
  • This position does not include benefits.

Schedule:

  • Seasonal schedule with varying hours averaging approximately 30 hours per week
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide shop assistance to the Assistant Golf Professional and other Pro Shop employees whose goal is to provide exceptional customer service while promoting interest in golf and Bailey Ranch Golf Course events
  • Provide efficient and friendly customer service throughout the Pro Shop, properly checking in golfers prior to play and accurately ringing up charges at the register. This also includes proper cash handling procedures, as well as making sure that all standards of operations are being met.
  • Respond to inquiries and schedule golf tee-times for members and guests both in person and over the phone; focus attention on member and guest needs while remaining calm, professional and courteous at all times, even when under pressure
  • Receive merchandise deliveries and assist in unpacking, count inventory, stock and arrange new merchandise; take care of any returned merchandise and issue proper credit to customer
  • Maintain overall Shop cleanliness and neatness (i.e. maintain orderly/organized work areas, straighten merchandise and displays, empty trash)
  • Responsible for initiating any outside services as needed and requested (i.e. Carts)
  • Promote the game of golf and the Club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service
  • Perform close of business functions following guidelines and procedures established by the Club
  • Perform other duties as assigned in a positive manner which supports the vision and strategic objectives of the division/department and the entire organization of the City of Owasso. Duties may be subject to change as organizational needs necessitate.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to perform varied responsibilities
  • Strong social and communication skills
  • Have a positive attitude with a desire to learn
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Basic Computer Skills

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and interest in Golf would be helpful in this position
  • Six months in retail operations or comparable customer service experience

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work will be performed mostly outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, hot and cold, and wet and/or humid conditions. The work environment may include exposure to drafts, noise, dust, grease, and traffic.

Tasks require ability to lift/push/pull/ and/or move up to 25 pounds on a regular basis, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with mechanical or manual assistance, and typically involve some combination of walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, walking, balancing, climbing, bending, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, and mental and visual acuity.
