What is golf operations?

Golf Operations refer to the management and coordination of all activities and services related to running a golf facility, such as a golf course or club. This includes overseeing tee times, tournaments, customer service, staff management, pro shop operations, and maintenance scheduling. Professionals in golf operations ensure that golfers have a smooth, enjoyable experience by handling logistics, enforcing course rules, and maintaining high standards of service. They may also be responsible for budgeting, marketing, and coordinating with groundskeeping staff to maintain course quality.

What are the typical daily responsibilities in golf operations and how does the team collaborate with other departments at a golf facility?

In a Golf Operations role, daily responsibilities often include managing tee times, assisting guests with check-in, coordinating golf cart distribution, and ensuring the course is properly set up for play. Team members frequently collaborate with groundskeeping staff to maintain course conditions and with food and beverage teams to coordinate special events or tournaments. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential, as you'll be interacting with both members and visitors to ensure a smooth and enjoyable golfing experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in golf operations and why are they important?
