Job description

As a Recreation Aide 1, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, enjoyable, and well-run environment for golfers, families, and guests at Auburn Hills Golf Course. This is a hands-on opportunity to be part of the daily operations of a busy golf facility, where every day can bring new customers, activities, and experiences. This is entry-level seasonal or limited part-time public contact work supporting a variety of golf course operations.

Depending on assignment, employees may work in the pro shop, outside golf services, food and beverage operations, recreational activities, or other areas of the facility. Employees may assist customers, handle transactions, prepare and serve food, maintain supplies and equipment, support activities, and help ensure facilities are clean, organized, and ready for use. The position offers the opportunity to develop valuable customer service, communication, teamwork, cash-handling, and operational skills while contributing directly to the experience of Auburn Hills customers and guests.

Employees should be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors and adapting to changing work assignments, customer needs, and weather conditions. THIS IS A LIMITED PART-TIME POSITION The day and hours for this position varies. Work schedules vary based on operational needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and other nontraditional hours.

Bargaining Unit: No Union Representation **Posting may close at any time** Examples of Work Performed Specific duties depend on actual work location and activities. Serves customers at concession counter. Receives and disburses cash.

Prepares and handles food. Stocks concession products. Performs basic equipment maintenance.

Supervises children, organizes and leads games and assists with class instruction. Officiates or keeps score for sports activities. Performs basic custodial duties.

Sets up and takes down building furnishings and arrangements. Completion of work assignments may require operation of a vehicle. These examples are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements of Work Knowledge of basic functions of arithmetic. Ability to count money and make change; and use a computer to access, interpret and record information.

Ability to accept and respond to a steady volume of requests for information and/or service, both in person and over the telephone. Ability to lift and carry stacks of boxes or other loads weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to teach students who have a wide variety of experience and aptitude.

Ability to communicate orally clearly and effectively. Able to maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants and the public. May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas Driver's License.

An employee will not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace. Experience and Training Required Experience and Training Must be at least 16 years of age, or 18 years of age, dependent upon assignment. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.

Preferred Experience and Training Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment. Previous cash handling experience. Offers of employment are contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical, which includes drug screening, and upon satisfactory evaluation of a criminal record check.
