Position Summary: This intermittent role performs administrative, technical, preventative, and corrective maintenance and repair on groundskeeping equipment and golf cars for the Golf Division of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Golf Maintenance position ensures all equipment operates safely and efficiently to support golf course operations and provide positive guest experience.

Essential Job Functions:
Equipment Maintenance & Repairs
Analyzes and troubleshoots golf groundskeeping equipment and golf carts, identifying problems and performing repairs, rebuilds, and part replacements.
Performs welding and fabricating on gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment as needed.
Repairs suspensions, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, brake, and power/drive train systems.
Performs electrical diagnostics and repairs on all types of vehicles and equipment.
Changes and repairs tires.
Performs field service, including sharpening mowers and maintaining proper mower height.
Washes and maintains carts and grounds equipment, taking other maintenance measures as needed.

Preventative Maintenance
Inspects golf groundskeeping equipment and golf carts daily prior to use, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, wear on attachments, and other potential issues.
Performs and coordinates preventative maintenance duties according to established schedules and procedures.
Maintains accurate records and logs of equipment maintenance.
Organizes and performs routine sharpening and related maintenance on mowing equipment.

Inventory & Purchasing
Monitors and tracks inventory, orders, and purchases supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.

General Responsibilities
Demonstrates self-motivation and contributes to a fun, energetic, team-oriented environment.
Welcomes and assists all visitors of the Aspen Golf Club in a professional manner.
Offers genuine and professional assistance to every guest before and after each round.
Independently arranges and organizes golf cart staging and driving range areas in a timely and professional manner.
Safely and professionally washes, details, stages, and charges all golf carts daily.
Safely and professionally picks up, washes, details, and stages range balls daily.
Maintains basic knowledge of golf operations and understands golf course procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, but not required.

Experience: Two years of mechanical and diagnostic experience

Technical Knowledge: Must be able to use a computer for clocking in/out, replying to emails, checking schedules. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (Email), and have a basic understanding of online computer-based technology applications, which includes accessing web-based platforms.

Licenses & Certifications: Must be a minimum of 16 years of age and possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date.

Preferred Candidate:
Basic golf knowledge and understanding of golf operations.
Strong communication, enthusiasm, and engagement skills.

NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Criminal Background Check.

NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.

Position Type and Work Hours:
Intermittent, less than 29 hours, Hours may vary depending on operational needs and golf season.
Works a minimum of 20 hours per week up to the intermittent position limit, based on operational needs.
Golf Season: April 1, 2026 - October 31, 2026.
This position may work as early as 5:30 am and work as late as 1:00 pm.
Standard workday in the Peak Season is 5:30 am to 11:00 am.
Must be available to work holidays and weekends.

Work Environment:
Indoors: Office environment at facility
Outdoors/Off-Site (95%): Outdoor recreational golf facilities. Position will be exposed to outdoor working conditions in all types of weather. Will attend meetings, trainings, and conferences at a variety of city facilities and areas.
