Description:

The Water Aerobics Instructor is responsible for leading engaging, safe, and effective aquatic fitness classes for Overlake Golf & Country Club members. This position will create a positive and welcoming environment while providing instruction that accommodates participants of varying fitness levels and abilities. The instructor will lead both shallow and deep-water aerobic classes while promoting member engagement and wellness.


Class Instruction
  • Lead scheduled water aerobics classes in a professional, energetic, and encouraging manner.
  • Provide instruction for both shallow and deep-water aquatic fitness formats.
  • Demonstrate proper exercise techniques and provide modifications to accommodate different fitness levels.
  • Maintain awareness of participant safety and ensure a safe aquatic environment.
  • Create engaging class formats that encourage participation and member retention.
Member Experience
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build positive relationships with Club members.
  • Encourage participation and foster an inclusive environment for all fitness levels.
  • Respond to member questions and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
  • Represent Overlake Golf & Country Club in a positive and professional manner.
Program Support
  • Arrive prepared with class plans, music (if applicable), and necessary equipment.
  • Communicate any class needs, concerns, or opportunities for improvement to the Athletics and Recreation Director.
  • Assist with growing the aquatic fitness program through quality instruction and member engagement.

Schedule and Compensation


Seasonal position running from the last week of July through Labor Day.

  • Current class schedule:
    • Mondays: 9:00 AM โ€“ 10:00 AM
    • Wednesdays: 9:00 AM โ€“ 10:00 AM
  • Compensation: $100 per class.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience teaching water aerobics, aquatic fitness, group exercise, or related fitness programming preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead groups with energy, confidence, and professionalism.
  • Ability to modify exercises for participants with varying abilities and fitness levels.
  • Current fitness, aquatic, or group exercise certifications preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification preferred or ability to obtain.
