Job description

Aqua Aerobics Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY: The Aqua Aerobics Instructor is responsible for the design, preparation, and delivery of open-format group aqua aerobics classes. Under the supervision of the Fitness Manager, the instructor will create engaging, safe, and effective workouts tailored to a diverse participant base. This role requires current certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization, with a strong preference for credentials in Aqua Aerobics instruction.


LOCATION: Tinley Fitness, a facility of the Tinley Park-Park District, 8125 W. 171st Street, Tinley Park, Illinois


QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will hold and maintain certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization such as IE AEA, SCW or equivalent certification programs. Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. CPR/AED certification or ability to gain CPR certification is also required. Previous experience teaching group fitness classes is preferred, demonstrating the ability to lead and motivate participants effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to foster a positive and inclusive class environment.


INCENTIVES: This is a year-round, part-time position with the ability to substitute for other instructors as needed. Flexible availability is preferred. Pay rate begins at $24.00 per hour DOQ and qualifies for a complementary membership to the Fitness Center, Recreation Center, Water Park, and Dog Park.


ABOUT US: The Tinley Park-Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 55,000 residents with a wide variety of recreation facilities, programs, events, parks, and open spaces. The Park District maintains over 40 parks, 33 ball fields, and several facilities which include the Tony Bettenhausen Recreation Center, Tinley Fitness, White Water Canyon Water Park, Canine Campus Dog Park, Tinley Junction Miniature Golf & Batting Cages, Vogt Visual Arts Center, and the Tinley Park Performing Arts Center.
