ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product/process development for all new and modified golf balls
  • Golf ball commercialization process owner as related to manufacturing
  • Generate capital project requests, including cost analysis and justification
  • Collaborate with equipment engineering group on design and execution of capital projects related to process improvement, equipment replacement, and new product requirements
  • Support operations gross margin initiatives via productivity improvements, process improvements, new materials, and impactful cost savings programs
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining product specifications
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining product material bills (except for packaging)
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining manufacturing instructions
  • Provide input to finance relating to product costs
  • Works with outside suppliers for material development and qualification
  • Conducts process capability studies
  • Conduct raw material vendor audits
  • Liaison between Chicopee ball operations and Carlsbad R&D team
  • Develop new manufacturing processes
  • Support quality initiatives and defect reduction via best practices and SPC methodology
  • Support CI/Lean initiatives via active participation in staff green belt development and applied practices
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures where applicable
  • Provide technical support subsidiary and 3rd party manufacturing sites
  • Maintain documentation related to new product development, production pilots, legal
  • Acts in a supervisory role overseeing Process Engineers and Engineering Technicians to include coaching, training, performance reviews and disciplinary action when required
  • Works towards improvements for process efficiencies
  • Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in MS Office products, MS Project, statistical analysis programs
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies a plus

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Physical Sciences
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
