About this Opportunity

Richmond Country Club is seeking a Golf Course Marshall. Reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional, the Golf Course Marshal is responsible for providing members and guests with the RCC Experience by ensuring an enjoyable, well-paced, and safe round of golf. The Marshal supports the overall on-course operation through proactive communication, course care monitoring, and consistent delivery of club standards

What we are looking for and what can you bring to the table?

The Golf Course Marshall's duties and responsibilities are:

  • Provide the highest level of customer service on an ongoing basis in an engaging, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Maintain an active and visible presence on the golf course to support the member experience and uphold RCC standards. Support for the Golf Pro Shop may also be required.
  • Monitor pace of play throughout the day, identify potential delays, and take appropriate action to ensure groups remain on schedule.
  • Utilize the Verifeye Pace Tracking System to monitor daily pace trends and identify slow groups; provide accurate reports to the Head Golf Professional for follow-up and potential letter issuance.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with members and guests regarding pace of play, course care, and club policies.
  • Assist in maintaining course conditions by monitoring divots, ball marks, bunker raking, and reporting any course care issues to the Golf Shop or Grounds Team.
  • Ensure all players have checked in with the Golf Shop before beginning their round.
  • Support the enforcement of club policies, including dress code, etiquette, safety protocols, and practice facility rules.
  • Provide timely updates to the Golf Shop regarding on-course flow, weather delays, or conditions affecting play.
  • Assist with on-course setup and support during tournaments and events as required.
  • Help direct cart traffic, monitor cart usage, and ensure adherence to posted cart rules and restrictions.
  • Report accidents, safety concerns, or incidents to the Head Golf Professional immediately.
  • Be present and assist with any operational requirements during Club events.
  • Support the Golf Operations team with additional duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience in understanding 'pace of play' on the golf course and knowledge of the basic rules of golf.
  • Previous experience in providing exceptional customer service is required in a similar industry or background.

  • May be required to work early mornings, evenings, holidays, or weekends as needed.

  • Duration: Seasonal position (July to September-end).
  • Hours of Work: Full-time, 30 to 40 hours per week.
  • Flexibility Required: Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and during league and social golf events.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible.
  • Job Environment: On-site only, outdoors and indoors.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Richmond, BC- reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).

The Operations:

Our 6800-yard, par 72 A.V. Macan designed course is one of BC's premiere golf venues. Our championship-level golf course is known for its tree-lined fairways, well-positioned bunkers, and signature raised, undulating greens. The variety of tees allows all levels of golfer to enjoy our well-conditioned course year-round. The golf pro shop is open 30-minutes before the first tee time and closes at dusk 363 days per year, which does not include Yom Kippur and Christmas Day.

The golf operations is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the golf experience for the members and their guests.
