Job description

Lexicon offers a unique combination of capabilities. Our services include construction management, fabrication, erection, mechanical installation, and plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial, and roadway projects, as well as a full spectrum of golf course construction and management services.

Position Summary

The HVAC Duct Installer is responsible for installing all ductwork and other materials on the job site.  This position is deemed 'safety sensitive' due to the fact that a person improperly performing the essential or marginal functions of the job would constitute a threat to the health or safety of the employee, the employee's co-workers, and/or the public at large.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Locates and installs ductwork and other types of materials in strict accordance with the mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Measures ductwork offsets, transitions, as required for a complete ductwork system.
  • Reads architectural and mechanical blueprints to determine exact location and elevation of duct-work or apparatus that is to be installed.
  • Assembles ductwork and fittings at the job site that is to be installed.
  • Assists the mechanical contractor in locating and physically installing mechanical equipment, exhaust fans and curbs, vents for boilers, hot water heaters and furnaces, and all sheet metal items that the sheet metal trade has jurisdiction.
  • Adhere to all company safety/OSHA rules and regulations.
  • The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years' experience in the sheet metal field.  Must have a valid driver's license.  Must have good oral communication skills. 

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds frequently.  Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.  Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds.  Job requires bending, stooping, and lifting. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
