Job Title: Regional Golf Cart Mechanic
Department: Golf Operations
Reports to: General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly)
SUMMARY
The Regional Golf Cart Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining golf cart fleets and utility vehicles across eight golf properties throughout the Phoenix Valley. This position requires frequent travel between properties using a company-provided service vehicle to ensure each course maintains a safe, reliable, and fully operational fleet. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated mechanic with strong organizational and time management skills who can prioritize repairs, preventive maintenance, and scheduling across multiple locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Travel daily between eight golf course properties throughout the Phoenix Valley using a company-provided service vehicle. Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on electric golf carts, as well as gas-powered beverage carts, utility vehicles, shuttle carts, and ranger vehicles. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, including battery maintenance, charging system diagnostics, brake adjustments, tire repairs, tune-ups, oil changes, and general inspections. Prioritize repairs and maintenance based on fleet needs to ensure each property maintains adequate cart availability for daily operations. Maintain organized service schedules, maintenance records, and repair logs for multiple golf cart fleets. Coordinate maintenance visits to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime across all locations. Perform emergency repairs as needed to keep fleets operational. Set up, modify, and prepare new golf carts and utility vehicles for service. Maintain inventory of commonly used parts and communicate parts and supply needs to management. Ensure all carts and utility vehicles are safe, clean, charged or fueled, and operating properly before returning them to service. Build positive working relationships with golf course staff and communicate repair status and maintenance needs effectively. Stay current on manufacturer recommendations, repair procedures, and best maintenance practices. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Two or more years of experience repairing golf carts, automobiles, utility vehicles, powersports equipment, small engines, or similar mechanical equipment preferred. Experience diagnosing and repairing both electric and gas-powered vehicles is preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing work across multiple properties. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing maintenance needs. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must provide and maintain a personal set of mechanics tools required to perform the job. Willingness to travel daily throughout the Phoenix Valley. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when operational needs require.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, maintenance procedures, wiring diagrams, and technical repair documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with managers, golf course staff, vendors, and fellow associates regarding maintenance priorities and repair status.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems, prioritize repairs across multiple facilities, and make sound decisions while working independently. Ability to interpret written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions and adapt to changing operational priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and use hands to handle tools and equipment. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and parts weighing up to 75 pounds. The position requires working in various weather conditions and frequent driving between golf course locations throughout the workday.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily performed outdoors and in maintenance shop environments across multiple golf course properties. The employee will regularly be exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud equipment, changing weather conditions, grease, oils, fuels, batteries, cleaning chemicals, and electrical systems. Daily travel between locations is required using a company-provided service vehicle.
